The "Global Pop Music Chart" is a collaboration among the top eleven Chinese-language radio stations worldwide. It involves an international alliance, with cooperation from Taiwan's Hit Fm Network, China's MusicRadio, the City Voice Network, Singapore's Radio 1003, Malaysia's MY FM, Los Angeles' Chinese-language radio station AM1300, and Canada's Chinese-language radio station. Each week, the stations select 20 songs from over 40 candidate songs to enter the weekly chart. The weekly chart rankings are determined by a combination of professional reviews (30%), airplay (30%), and listener voting (40%). Every six months, the points accumulated by all the songs on the chart are totaled, and the top 20 songs are selected as the semi-annual "Golden Songs." Over the entire year, a total of 40 songs make it onto the list. Additionally, based on the total points from the chart rankings and the professional opinions of music experts from each station, the "Top 20 Annual Golden Songs" are selected with a ratio of 6:4 (60% from the chart rankings and 40% from professional reviews).
