Video information

The drama is adapted from Yoshinori Sakai's popular manga, with the screenplay written by Kaiko Mori. It tells the story of a parallel world in Edo where the roles of men and women are reversed. During the era of the third shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu, a smallpox epidemic drastically reduced the male population, leading to a complete reversal of societal roles. After the third shogun, women took over the position of shogun, and the inner palace (Daikoku) became a gathering place for "three thousand beautiful men." The original manga has been adapted into a film and television series in the past, but this is the first live-action adaptation to fully tell the story from the era of the third shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu, to the era of the Meiji Restoration. The story covers the periods of "Tokugawa Iemitsu × Mariko Arimura," "Tokugawa Tsunayoshi × Saemon Saito," and "Tokugawa Yoshimune × Yukio Mizuno," culminating in the era of the Meiji Restoration.
