The story takes place in 1805, where Count Pierre (played by Paul Dano) marries the wealthy heiress Helen (played by Tuppence Middleton). However, the two are not truly in love, and theirAfter marriage. life is not particularly happy. Andre (played by James Norton) is Pierre's good friend, and one day, he accidentally meets Natasha (played by Lily James), a beautiful noblewoman. They fall in love at first sight and soon become a couple. Later, Andre returns to the army, and Helen's brother Anatole (played by Callum Turner) becomes infatuated with Natasha's beauty. He takes advantage of the situation, deceiving Natasha with lies and corrupting her pure heart. Under Anatole's enticement and persuasion, Natasha decides to elope with him. War breaks out, and when Natasha sees Andre again, he is severely wounded and near death. In her grief, Natasha finally realizes her true feelings, but it is already too late.
