Toshiro Nishimura (played by Kenta Miura) is a TV director at a production company. In his profession, he is a very ambitious person, always wanting to explore fresh topics. However, Nishimura himself is an old-fashioned man who deeply believes in the patriarchal "Showa-era" mindset, where men are superior to women. This belief is so deeply ingrained in his mind that he doesn't even realize how absurd it is. Nishimura has been dating Miko Kondo (played by Ayame Kaneko) for three years. One day, Nishimura decides to propose to Miko. In reality, Nishimura doesn't want to marry Miko because of how much he loves her; rather, Miko fits his ideal image of a frugal, gentle, and virtuous wife. What Nishimura, who thought everything was going smoothly, didn't expect was that the next day after the proposal, Miko left their engagement rings and disappeared.
