This drama is adapted from the novel of the same name by Keigo Higashino, telling the story of a father, Shigeki Nagamine (played by Takehi Kitano), who becomes a murderer to seek revenge after his daughter is brutally killed. After his wife's death, Shigeki raised his daughter, Emi, alone, and soon she was in high school. One evening, Emi did not return home after going to work. When Shigeki saw his daughter again, she was already a cold corpse with signs of being raped. A few days later, Shigeki received a mysterious phone call that revealed the name and address of the person who had harmed his daughter. After much hesitation, he decided to go there. Upon entering the house, he discovered a video recording of his daughter being brutally abused and killed. Just then, one of the murderers returned home, and in a fit of rage, Shigeki killed him. He then began his revenge on the other murderer. Since the two murderers who killed his daughter were still minors, they would not be sentenced to death. As a father, was Shigeki's act of avenging his daughter right or wrong?
