On the same day in 1989, 43 babies were born under mysterious circumstances, and the women who became their mothers showed no signs of pregnancy beforehand and had no connection to one another. Seven of these children were adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire businessman who founded the Umbrella Academy and raised his "children" to save the world. However, things did not go as planned. During their teenage years, the family fractured, and the team disbanded. Years later, the six surviving members, now in their thirties, reunite upon hearing the news of Hargreeves' death. Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Vanya, and Number Five work together to unravel the mystery of their father's death. However, due to their diverse personalities and abilities, this estranged family once again teeters on the brink of collapse, not to mention the looming threat of the end of the world. *The Umbrella Academy* is an adaptation of the popular comic and graphic novel series that won the Eisner Award. The book was created and written by Gerard Way (of *My Chemical Romance*) and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, published by Dark Horse Comics.
