Little Fires Everywhere is adapted from the novel of the same name by Celeste Ng. The story is set in a small town in Ohio in the 1990s. That summer, a fire burned down the Richardson family's house. Everyone thought it was the "good deed" of Elena Richardson's (played by Reese Witherspoon) youngest daughter, Ijeoma, who disappeared... Along with Ijeoma, the Richardson family's tenant also vanished: the vagrant artist Mia (played by Kerry Washington) and her daughter. Their presence silently challenged the truths the family held dear: a stable and beautiful life must be meticulously planned. Their arrival shattered all the constraints on Ijeoma, and she realized she could never return to her old life.
