In 1781, during the American Revolutionary War. Captain Ichabod Crane (played by Tom Mison) under George Washington's command decapitated a masked knight wielding an axe on the battlefield, sustaining serious injuries himself and losing consciousness. When he awoke again, he found that the world had changed drastically; he was now in a modern American society 250 years later. At the same time, the sheriff of Sleepy Hollow was brutally murdered, and his partner, Abbie Mills (played by Nicole Beharie), accidentally met Ichabod and learned that the sinister headless knight was responsible for the sheriff's death. Ichabod learned about everything his wife, Katrina (played by Katia Winter), had done after he was injured and realized from biblical records that the evil Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the demonic army from Hell were about to descend upon the world. After that, death and slaughter spread rampantly in Sleepy Hollow. Witches, blood curses, and demons, all kinds of ghostly mists have surrounded American history, from ancient times to the present, with far-reaching influence... This film is adapted from Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."
