Hai Qiao (played by Lai Ya-Yen) is born into a wealthy family, with her father, Hai Mingwei (played by Wang Dao), being the owner of six jewelry stores. Mingwei has two wives, and his concubine, Zhang Yamei (played by Di Ying), is a troublemaker. Fortunately, Qiao's biological mother, Li Tie (played by Liu Ruiqi), is a wise and resourceful woman who can resolve various family issues, earning her the nickname "Iron Mother." When Qiao was a child, she was caught in a major earthquake and trapped under rubble, but she was saved by a young man who left a deep impression on her, and she hopes to reunite with him one day. Years later, Hai Qiao returns from studying abroad with honors. Despite her father Mingwei's opposition, she resolutely joins her sister Hai Hanzi (played by Lin Ke-Tong) in applying to a police academy. At the academy, Qiao meets Officer Gao Cang (played by Lu Siming). Cang is sharp and intelligent, with a fierce hatred for evil, willing to sacrifice his own future for justice. To Qiao's surprise, Cang is the very young man who saved her years ago. However, Gao Cang was once shot, leaving a bullet lodged in his body that cannot be removed. The bullet continuously releases lead poison, slowly eroding his life. Cang was shot indirectly by his superior, Lin Qiushui (played by Fan Guangyao), who is a high-ranking police officer with a despicable character, specializing in taking credit for his subordinates' achievements. To uphold justice, Gao Cang leads Hai Qiao, Hanzi, and Liang Shuang (played by Lin You-Wei) and other team members in constant conflicts with Qiushui internally, and fearlessly challenges the powerful externally, eventually solving several major cases in Taiwan that shocked the nation, including the "Serial Killer Case" and the "Deaf Girl Rape Case." Throughout these events, Hai Qiao and Gao Cang support each other, and their feelings for each other grow stronger. However, Gao Cang's life is nearing its end. In the final days, Hai Qiao and Gao Cang, who have known and loved each other, continue to fight against criminals, with their greatest enemy being Gao Cang's long-time good friend, the rising underworld figure "Cai Xiangge"... In fact, Cai Xiangge (played by Wang Chuan-Yi) is not high-ranking in the underworld, but because he is ruthless and fearless, even high-ranking gangsters dare not provoke him. This person not bothering you is already a blessing... Taiwan becomes more beautiful at night, and people become happier but more decadent. How will the dying Gao Cang and Hai Qiao continue to fight against criminals to the end...
