In the late 1970s, Feng Du (played by Jin Shijia), a young man who grew up in the hutongs of old Beijing, first encountered television in the home of his friend Xiao Zhan (played by Li Mao). He was deeply impressed by the world on the screen and dedicated his life to the television industry. However, Feng Du's love life was not smooth sailing.
