"Inspector Vera" is adapted from the novels of renowned crime writer Ann Cleeves and was adapted into a screenplay by Paul Rutman. Brenda Blethyn plays Inspector Vera, who, like Wallander in "Wallander," has her own set of problems, including the shadow of her deceased father, loneliness, and health issues caused by her weight. However, solving cases always comes first. With the help of the young and handsome detective Joe Ashworth (played by David Leon), they solve many cases together and help the families of victims seek justice.
