Yang Tao (played by Gao Yuanyuan), the manager of a hotel lobby, is a single woman of marriageable age who knows that marriage is the grave of love but still refuses to die without a proper resting place. Her mother, Ms. Xue Sumei (played by Zhang Kaili), is even more anxious than her daughter and mobilizes all her social connections to introduce potential suitors to Yang Tao. However, the bizarre applicants only make Tao more frustrated.
