Tenshi Renge (played by Hiroki Tamaki) was once a sharp detective in the Investigation Department of the Metropolitan Police Department, but resigned after failing to arrest the perpetrator of an insurance fraud murder case. Now, he works at the insurance investigation company, Fukuyama Research, utilizing his exceptional observational skills and instincts as a former detective to investigate suspected fraudulent cases involving insurance payouts. To uncover the truth, he is unbound by conventional rules, employing tactics such as ambushes, disguises, eavesdropping, and setting traps. He also employs spontaneous acting to confuse both his targets and his colleagues. While the insurance system can safeguard lives, it can also be maliciously exploited and used to destroy destinies. As Tenshi uncovers the truth, he also confronts the gray areas of human nature, interests, and justice.
