Although Ryan Murphy already has three shows on FX— *American Horror Story*, *American Crime Story*, and *Feud*—he hasn't slowed down. He is developing a fourth show for FX, *Pose*, which has been officially ordered for an 8-episode first season (set to premiere in summer 2018). Ryan Murphy will serve as the writer and director for the pilot, and he will co-produce with Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson. *Pose* is said to be a dance musical that will explore several aspects of New York City life and society in the 1980s, including the early emergence of Donald Trump, the social and literary scene in the Lower East Side, and the LGBTQ+ culture. Evan Peters and Kate Mara will play Stan and Patty, a couple from New Jersey, who find themselves caught up in the vibrant and complex world of 1980s New York. James Van Der Beek will play Matt, a financial power player, with Peters working for him. Charlayne Woodard will play a 50-year-old Black character (originally cast as Tatiana Maslany, but the role was recast and the character's backstory was revised).
