As a new deadly plague looms, Gus (Christian Convery) and his hybrid companions are imprisoned by General Albert (Neil Sandilands) and the Last Men. To solidify his power by finding a cure, Albert uses the children as experimental bait for Dr. Aditya Singh (Adil El Arbi), who is trying to save his infected wife, Rani (Aliza Vergani). To protect his friends, Gus agrees to help Dr. Singh, embarking on an unknown journey to uncover his origins and the role his mother, Portia (Amy Seimetz), played in the "Great Collapse." Outside the sanctuary, Tommy Jeephead (Nonso Anozie) and Amy Eden (Dania Ramirez) team up to rescue the hybrids, but Jeephead's secret will test their partnership. As past events threaten the current rescue mission, Gus and his reunited family clash with Albert and the forces of evil, who seek to eliminate them once and for all.
