FOX's "The Passage" is produced by Liz Heldens, Matt Reeves, and Scott Free. The project was originally scheduled for last year, but was shelved halfway through development. It was officially greenlit by FOX a year later. The series is adapted from Justin Cronin's best-selling novel of the same name, where the United States is researching a mysterious virus that can cure all diseases but also has the potential to destroy the world. Amy Bellafonte (played by Saniyya Sidney) becomes the subject of this experiment, while FBI agent Brad Wolgast (played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar) becomes her foster father and protector.
