Pureko Sotake (played by Eiko Koike), who brutally murdered five men, is finally apprehended, causing a massive sensation in society. Riding on this wave of public interest, elite journalist Ayako Tanabe (played by Taisuke Matsuyuki) is tasked by her editor-in-chief to investigate her background. Through testimonies from relevant individuals, Ayako tracks down Pureko's junior high school friend, Ayako Shinoda (played by Miuma), but seems to reach a completely opposite conclusion. Just as the investigation begins to show progress, a sixth victim suddenly emerges, prompting Ayako to shift her focus to this new lead. She discovers that the mother of the deceased, Junko Morikawa (played by Yumi Asou), has an unusual connection to Pureko. At this moment, Ayako's former colleague, Junko Fukui (played by Misa Nishida), comes knocking with new clues... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name byDetective writerMariko Yukiko.
