Mindy (played by Mindy Kaling) is an obstetrician-gynecologist who works diligently and conscientiously. However, in her personal life, she is quite unreliable, constantly causing one mishap after another. As a result, to this day, she remains single and lonely, yearning for the day when a prince charming will suddenly appear in her life, just as in her favorite movies. Mindy gradually discovers that as long as she continues to associate with her equally unreliable colleagues and friends—such as the handsome but selfish Reed (played by Ed Weeks), the sharp-tongued but kind-hearted Danny (played by Chris Messina), the witty and humorous Pengqi (played by Zoe Jarman), and the cold yet elegant Di Carlo (played by Amanda Setton)—her dream of finding true love will remain out of reach. Yet, how easy is it to escape them?
