Video information
The drama is adapted from the novel of the same name published by Cecil Day-Lewis, the father of British actor Daniel Day-Lewis, in 1938. The story tells of a grieving mother who infiltrates the life of a man she believes is the murderer of her son. The original synopsis is quite different, so the series may have undergone significant changes. The script is written by Gaby Chiappe, who also wrote the script for *Their Finest*, and directed by Dome Karukoski, who directed *Tolkien*. *Evil Shall Die* is the fourth book in a series of 16 detective novels featuring Nigel Strangeways as the protagonist. In the past, there have been film adaptations of the series in Argentina and France. According to the earliest development news, given the number of books in the original series, the show may be developed as a series rather than a limited mini-series for just one season.
