The genius inventor and IT expert, Da Xia, shares an apartment in a modern urban complex called Mengju with his dreamy classmate and friend, Qi Long, a third-rate online writer. Together, they create numerous intelligent AI robot companions. Their co-residents include Meng Meng, a girl who loves her dog like a child; Mei Jun, a fallen beauty; Da Zhi, a flamboyant painter; and Xiong Xiong, the underdog owner of a shop and a sparring partner for Sanda King. On a whim, Da Xia and Qi Long conduct an intelligence enhancement experiment on Meng Meng's beloved dog, Xiao Ba. To their surprise, the experiment endows Xiao Ba with an extremely high IQ and the ability to speak human language. They are forced to bribe Xiao Ba and keep it a secret from Meng Meng. Meanwhile, the robot center where Da Xia and Qi Long work is mysteriously breached, prompting them to team up with Xiao Ba to unravel the connection behind a series of baffling cases. The story unfolds with Xiao Ba's love and hatred, growth journey, and companionship from various canine characters: an elderly former hero dog, a glamorous internet celebrity dog, a gentle dog neighbor sister, and Xiao Ba's troublesome brother Xiao Ji. In the AI era, real intelligent robots of all sizes make authentic appearances, sometimes appearing silly and innocent, and other times displaying remarkable intelligence and bravery. The story is filled with endless comedic moments of human-robot cohabitation. However, the appearance of a mysterious hacker and a bionic robot further complicates the case, making it even more enigmatic.
