In the peaceful town called "Perfection," Mickey (Kevin Bacon) and his best friend Buster (Fred Ward) have spent another quiet day. The two young men are frustrated and troubled by the fact that they are stuck in this boring town, working at one dead-end job after another, barely making ends meet. Finally, they decide to leave Perfection and start their vibrant new lives, but just then, the only road leading out of town mysteriously collapses, and ominous signs begin to appear. Weeks earlier, the town experienced the terrifying event of livestock disappearing without a trace, and simultaneously, a geology student named Rebecca (Finn Carter) discovered that the town's crustal movement is highly unusual. Now, everyone is piecing together these chaotic clues. What is lurking beneath their feet, in the pitch-black depths of the earth?
