Video information

In the early 1940s, as World War II was nearing its end, the intense and prolonged battles had left both the Soviet and German armies increasingly exhausted. The German "White Tiger," a massive tank with formidable offensive and destructive capabilities, repeatedly devastated Soviet tanks, causing widespread destruction and loss of life. This unstoppable and powerful weapon always appeared mysteriously from the battlefield smoke and then vanished just as quickly, leaving no one able to confirm its existence, though no one dared to deny it either. The Soviet command decided to build a super tank, a variant of the T-34, to counter it. The commander of this tank, Ivan Nadzianov (played by Alexei Vertkov), was a legendary figure. He had once been severely injured when his tank was hit by the "White Tiger." Despite surviving this near-death experience, Ivan developed a unique ability to "read" the "language" of tanks. He was convinced that the mysterious German tank "White Tiger" did indeed exist and was determined to destroy it. Directed by Russian filmmaker Karen Shakhnazarov, the war film *White Tiger* was nominated for the Golden Goblet Award for Best Film at the 15th Shanghai International Film Festival in 2012 and was also selected for the Russian Film Showcase at the 3rd Beijing International Film Festival in 2013.
