During the Chinese Civil War, Captain Sheng Peng (played by Yang Youning), who was severely injured, unexpectedly met an orphan named Xiao Fengxian (played by Zou Xianqi). The gears of fate began to turn, and Sheng Peng, Shunzi, and Xiao Fan (played by Hu Yuwei) carefully took care of Xiao Fengxian, developing genuine feelings for each other. With Xiao Fengxian in tow, Sheng Peng and his group arrived at the dock, intending to take a boat to Taiwan. There, he accidentally met sisters Qiu Xiang (played by Guo Biting) and Qiu Mei (played by Guo Caijie), and became their benefactor. Upon arriving in Taiwan, the group, being unfamiliar with the place, had a very tough time. They lived in a dirty and cramped shanty town, barely managing to cover their basic needs. However, the bonds of family, friendship, and love firmly held them together, providing comfort and warmth to each other.
