Senior detective Wang Zhiyi (played by Su Youpeng), known for his extremely low case-solving efficiency, takes his dating photos for marriage introductions more seriously than suspect photos, and has an uncanny ability to sense danger, often dodging alarms at the right moment by having a stomachache. However, this time, the always undervalued Zhiyi is suddenly assigned a super task: to monitor his new colleague Gao Yiping (played by Lin Yichen), who has just graduated from the police academy. It turns out that Yiping is the daughter of the police chief, and the chief, unable to persuade her to give up her dream of becoming a police officer, carefully selects her partner. After consideration, the task-avoiding and safety-seeking Zhiyi is deemed the perfect choice! From the first day of their partnership, they are intentionally assigned to handle trivial tasks by their superiors, which Zhiyi is delighted about, but Yiping's enthusiasm is doused with a bucket of cold water. Yiping's full enthusiasm clashes with Zhiyi's carefree attitude, and the two constantly bicker, becoming irreconcilable rivals. However, during the investigation of a case involving the unexpected death of a community dog, they accidentally uncover the whereabouts of the wanted drug trafficker Cao Zhi (played by Wu Zhongtian), and are thus drawn into a series of consecutive murder cases. For the first time facing a difficult case, Yiping is excited to uncover the mastermind and prove herself, while Zhiyi is solely focused on pulling Yiping out of danger to protect himself. As this pair of rivals tugs at each other, they gradually become entangled in the core of the case. With each clue unraveling, they find themselves, unbeknownst to themselves, in a dangerous situation as the murderer becomes increasingly apparent...
