In 1982, a three-person Antarctic expedition team under the auspices of Norway stumbled upon an unusual ship from a million years ago while trekking through the ice sheet, and nearby they discovered a mysterious creature frozen in the harsh ice. The American paleontologist Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), who is both beautiful and brilliant, is invited by Dr. Sandor Haveron (Ulrich Thomsen) to join a group of scientists on a journey to Antarctica. After careful study, they discover that this is a species never before seen on Earth. Just as the scientists are celebrating their great discovery with song and dance, the mysterious creature thaws out and launches a ferocious attack on humanity. After a fierce battle, the monster is ultimately consumed by fire. However, the misfortune does not end there. After observing the cells of the monster, Kate begins to sense that a disaster is approaching humanity...
