The protagonist Dylan (played by Michiel Huisman) has a natural ability to perceive patterns and strictly adheres to a routine. One afternoon at 2:22 PM, Dylan Bronson, an air traffic controller, is momentarily disoriented by a mysterious light, nearly causing a plane under his command to crash. From then on, he experiences this light every day, gradually realizing that he is caught in some kind of loop. By chance, Dylan meets Sarah (played by Teresa Palmer), who he instantly falls for. To their astonishment, they discover that Sarah was a passenger on the flight that nearly crashed due to Dylan's disorientation. Even more coincidentally, they share the same birthday. As their relationship deepens, Dylan and Sarah find themselves increasingly entangled in coincidences. Frequent hallucinations and recurring events link their fate to a murder-suicide case that occurred 30 years ago at New York's Grand Central Station. Dylan persistently investigates the mystery behind "2:22" and discovers that the murder-suicide case is about to be replayed.
