The thriller *Phone Booth* is directed by Joel Schumacher and stars Colin Farrell (who recently appeared in *Daredevil* and *The Recruit*). A single phone call could change your life, but for someone else, it may mean the end of their life. The entire film is set around a public phone booth on a New York street, where a serial killer with a sniper rifle lures a lowly advertising consultant, Stu Shepard (played by Colin Farrell), into answering a call. The caller claims that if Stu hangs up, he will be shot. When you hear the phone ringing in a public booth, what would you do? You know it's probably a wrong number, but instinct might make you pick up the phone. When Stu answers the call, he finds himself caught in a complex game. The caller (voiced by Kiefer Sutherland) warns: "If you hang up, you're dead." A sudden fight near the phone booth attracts the attention of the police, who bring a team of heavily armed sharpshooters. The police believe Stu is a dangerous armed individual, unaware that the unseen caller is the real threat. A seasoned police captain, Ramey (played by Forest Whitaker), calls out to Stu, ordering him to leave the phone booth. However, unbeknownst to Ramey and his fellow officers, as well as the swarming journalists—including Stu's wife Kelly Shepard (Radha Mitchell) and potential client Pamela McFadden (Katie Holmes)—all are within the powerful sniper rifle's range. As the afternoon draws to a close and evening approaches, the unscrupulous and self-serving Stu Shepard must face an unexpected moral test. His emotions are completely controlled by the caller.Starr's past lies, half-truths, and confusions are no longer the issues at hand. Instead, he must delve deep into his soul to find the courage and strength to overcome the caller, and winning this game is no easy task.
