In the Baek household, no one's words hold any weight; only money is regarded as the supreme ruler. As the matriarch of the house, Baek Jin-yeol (played by Youn Yuh-jung) is constantly devising ways to make money, and she also engages in an illicit affair with her young male secretary, Yeong-ak (played by Kim Kang-woo). Apart from her insatiable desire for wealth, Baek Jin-yeol's craving for physical pleasure seems to have no bounds. The president of the family, Baek Yong-sik (played by Baek Yoon-shik), doesn't care about his wife's infidelity; for him, as long as there is money, nothing can stop him from moving forward. Despite being born into such a corrupt environment, Baek's eldest daughter, Na-mi (played by Kim Hyo-jin), doesn't seem to have been greatly affected. With her emotional nature, she gradually develops feelings for the handsome Yeong-ak. As the object of affection for both mother and daughter, Yeong-ak is unsure of what to do. On one hand, Na-mi's youthful body attracts him, but on the other hand, he is trapped in the whirlpool of money that Baek Jin-yeol has created, unable to extricate himself.
