In the 1970s, Roger (Ron Livingston) and Caroline (Lili Taylor) moved into an old house in Harrisville, Rhode Island, with their five beautiful daughters. Although the house was old and weathered, it brought the Perron family a sense of joy and happiness as they returned to a simpler life. However, their idyllic life was short-lived as a series of strange occurrences began to unfold, causing the girls to scream in terror and putting the Perrons on edge. In desperation, they sought out the renowned Warrens. Ed (Patrick Wilson), the husband, was the only exorcist recognized by the Catholic Church, while his wife Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) had the ability to see spirits.
