In 1975, Northern Ireland was plagued by suffering and trauma amidst the violent unrest orchestrated by the Ulster Volunteer Force against Catholic civilians. At just 17 years old, young Alistair (played by Liam Neeson) was drawn into the violence and participated in a brutal attack on Catholic civilians. During this incident, he mercilessly killed Joe Griffin's (played by James Nesbitt) older brother, in front of the young Joe. As the unrest subsided, Alistair was sentenced to twelve years in prison, while Joe, who witnessed his brother's murder, lived under the weight of his mother's reproach and guilt. Thirty years later, a television station invites both grown-up Alistair and Joe to participate in a program recording, aiming to uncover the truth of the events through interviews and seeking to reconcile the two. However, how will Joe, who has been tormented by the memory of his brother's murder, confront the man who killed him? How will Alistair explain the circumstances of the incident to Joe? Will they reconcile, and what changes will this bring to their lives?
