A busy thoracic surgeon at a hospital, Xia Zheng (played by Wang Bojie), is eager to leave work and rush home to rest. However, after leaving the hospital, he is urgently recalled due to a critically injured emergency patient involved in a car accident. Xia Zheng's patient, Jin Youzhong (played by Xue Shiling), is also a gossip journalist who, upon hearing rumors of an unknown virus breaking out in major hospitals, seeks to uncover an exclusive story. She goes to great lengths to stay in the hospital to investigate the source of the infection. On the other hand, nurse An Taihe (played by Zeng Jinghua) and intern doctor Li Xinyan (played by Xiang Jieru) are passionate healthcare workers who are deeply in love. They are dedicated to their work and often spend days at the hospital. When the virus outbreak occurs, they not only face an unexpected hospital lockdown but also the collapse of human relationships. In a situation where everyone is at risk of infection, should doctors, journalists, and healthcare workers prioritize self-preservation or saving lives? How can they survive in this increasingly fractured hospital, system, and society?
