The scene begins with a pair of deft, plump hands skillfully kneading dough, shaping it, rolling out the wrapper, and filling the dumplings. Before long, a steaming basket of pristine, mouth-watering dumplings is ready. The plain-looking female host opens the kitchen window for a brief rest. Soon after, the dumplings are steamed to perfection, and the host carries them to the dining table. Her husband has already woken up and is intently watching the news on television. After checking the time, he devours his dumplings and hurries off to work. The despondent host picks up the last dumpling, but as she takes a bite, the dumpling bursts into tears. For some reason, the dumpling has come to life, and the lonely host is overjoyed, so she raises the dumpling baby as her own child. The little dumpling grows day by day. At first, he is very close to the host, but gradually he develops his own personality, yearning for independence and longing to venture out... This short film is a trailer for *Incredibles 2* and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
