Video information

In 1858, two years before the American Civil War. German bounty hunter King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) buys black slave Django (Jamie Foxx) from a slave trader and sets him free. In fact, Schultz intends to train Django into an unruly bounty hunter to capture various fugitives for rewards. Django's only condition is: to rescue his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) from the tyrannical candy plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). This film is Quentin Tarantino's tribute to the classic Italian Western film "Django" directed by Sergio Corbucci in 1966. The genius director Quentin Tarantino spent three years crafting this masterpiece, following "Inglourious Basterds." The film continues Quentin's signature low-key yet luxurious style, featuring humorous elements and violent action scenes throughout. It also boasts strong ensemble performances and a stellar cast, making it a film full of highlights. "Django Unchained" won the Best Original Screenplay award at the 85th Academy Awards, and Christoph Waltz won the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in the film. The film was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound Editing at the 85th Academy Awards.
