Carrie White (played by Chloë Moretz), as timid as a rabbit, grows up under the strict supervision of her mother Margaret (played by Julianne Moore). Compared to the open and carefree girls at school, she is like a pure character from a fairy tale, untouched by the world. After a certain incident, Carrie becomes the target of ridicule and bullying by girls like Chris (played by Portia Doubleday) and Roo (played by Gabriella Wilde). Under extreme pressure and shame, Carrie unexpectedly discovers that she seems to possess magical powers. On the other hand, feeling guilty, Roo persuades her boyfriend Tommy to invite Carrie to the graduation dance. Meanwhile, Chris, who has been punished by the school, plots to further humiliate Carrie. The little witch uses her magic to escape the confines her mother has set for her, and her life becomes filled with even more unpredictability...
