Video information
Wally (played by Frankie Muniz) is an only child, which was quite rare during that time. As a result, Wally is bullied and excluded by his peers, becoming increasingly withdrawn. The only person who can make Wally feel happy and safe is his neighbor, Dink (played by Luke Wilson), who even teaches Wally how to become a baseball pitcher. However, not long after, this trustworthy friend leaves Wally to join the battlefield. To comfort the heartbroken Wally, his mother gives him a small dog named Skip, who is smart and obedient. With Skip's help, Wally gradually opens up and makes friends. Dink returns, but he is branded a deserter. Wally invites Dink to his football game, but Dink fails to show up. An angry Wally takes his frustration out on Skip, which directly leads to Skip running away. At this point, Wally realizes how important Skip is to him and decides to find him and apologize.
