In the dead of night in Spain, a middle-aged man ran frantically through the jungle, eventually being seriously injured by a speeding car on the highway. Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the man was a guard at a morgue and must have witnessed something terrifying before the incident. Further investigation revealed that a body had been stolen from the morgue that night. The body belonged to Maka Vilarfuerde (played by Belén Rueda), a powerful businesswoman who had returned from Los Angeles by plane in the afternoon and died shortly after from a heart attack. The police contacted Maka's husband, Alex (played by Hugo Silva), who was currently with his lover. His cold demeanor when talking about his wife raised doubts about their marital relationship.
