In 2003, the Iraq War broke out. The Saddam regime suffered a heavy blow, and weapons of mass destruction (WMD) became a strong justification for the U.S. to invade Iraq. Roy Miller (played by Matt Damon) led a team tasked with searching for WMDs within Iraq. However, after numerous fruitless searches, Miller began to doubt the reliability of their intelligence sources. During one mission, he encountered a local man with one leg named Fehadi, who revealed that several key Iraqi figures were gathering in a certain location. Miller also discovered that Al Rawi (played by Yigal Naor), who appeared on the playing card wanted list, was among them. It seemed that Al Rawi had complex connections with the U.S. government. Despite warnings, Miller conducted an independent investigation and uncovered that the so-called WMDs were merely a cover-up for numerous ugly truths... This film is adapted from the work of Rajiv Chandrasekaran, a Washington Post correspondent in Baghdad, titled "Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone."
