Hazel (played by Shailene Woodley) is a sixteen-year-old beautiful girl who should be enjoying the pleasures and hopes of life and youth like other teenagers of her age. However, the merciless illness has struck Hazel, and she is a lung cancer patient. Although her condition has recently improved, Hazel's mood has not become any lighter. The shadow of the cancer possibly recurring at any time and the unceasing treatment have left her almost devoid of enthusiasm and hope for life. By chance, Hazel meets a handsome boy named Augustus (played by Ansel Elgort) at a cancer support group. He is suffering from bone cancer. The two young people with similar circumstances quickly grow closer. Together, they explore the small world left to them by God, and Hazel sees the future and hope again.
