Marnie Whitfield (played by Famke Janssen) is married to Mike (played by Michael Paré), a corrupt police officer who not only engages in bribery and embezzlement outside the home but also abuses his wife. Unable to endure the constant abuse, Marnie ultimately kills her husband. After serving seven years in prison, Marnie is granted permission to complete her remaining six months of her sentence at her home in New York, on the condition that she wears an electronic ankle monitor to ensure she does not venture beyond a 100-foot radius. However, this limited freedom does not bring her any joy.
