Xuanxuan (played by Yang Ziyi) is diagnosed with a terminal illness and knows she doesn't have much time left. The only thing she can't let go of is a man named Wan Hao (played by Ma Junwei). She worries that after she's gone, no one will love or care for him as much as she does. So, Xuanxuan comes up with a plan: she decides to introduce her friend Qingqing to Wan Hao, hoping that she will take her place in loving and caring for him after she passes away. Qingqing and Wan Hao meet at a coffee shop. Unable to resist her curiosity, Xuanxuan, accompanied by Amao (played by Chuan Dao Maju), also goes to the café. What Xuanxuan sees is a harmonious and intimate scene between Qingqing and Wan Hao—they seem to have met at the perfect time and are enjoying each other's company. Although this is exactly the scene Xuanxuan had hoped to see, she still feels an indescribable pang of bitterness and inner conflict.
