A bounty hunter named Milo Boyd (played by Gerard Butler), who is deeply in debt due to gambling addiction, is tasked with capturing his ex-wife, Nicole Hargrove (played by Jennifer Aniston), a journalist. Nicole is being hunted by the court for missing her court date in a case involving a traffic incident where she shot a police officer. Nicole, who is relentless in her pursuit of uncovering the truth behind a bizarre suicide case, tries every means to escape, worsening the already strained relationship between the two, who divorced due to mutual hatred.
