In Hong Kong, taxi drivers often encounter ghosts while picking up passengers at night. For instance, night taxi driver Lin Zhongfa (played by Louis Koo) almost carried a ghostly woman (played by Loretta Yau) to Tsuen Wan, while his colleague "Fast Driver" (played by Leo Leung) encountered a woman pretending to be a ghost to defraud him. Later, "Fast Driver" carried a real ghost to Heung Shek Crematorium. Addicted to gambling, Lin Zhongfa is pursued by debt collectors after work. To avoid his debts, he is forced to move with his wife (played by Maimy Lee) and son Anzi into a cheap mansion on a mysterious street. However, they soon discover that the house is haunted, causing Anzi to cry every night. Lin Zhongfa swears to the ghost in the house (played by Wu Yijiang) that if it helps him find a path to wealth, he will share everything he owns with it. The next day, Lin Zhongfa finds a set of mysterious numbers in the house, after which he becomes unstoppable, winning every bet. However, Lin Zhongfa did not expect that the ghost in the house wants to share not only his wealth but also his wife and son... This film is the fifth installment in the "The Way of the Dead" series.
