Today, movies often focus on fringe characters, such as killers, thieves, prostitutes, and homosexuals, among others. You've likely seen films based on these themes. Indeed, there are valid reasons to focus on these people and portray them, as their lives are often beyond our reach, sparking curiosity and a desire to understand their circumstances. However, there is another type of fringe character that you might not have paid attention to: the Japanese women who specialize in making adult films (commonly referred to as "A" movies). I won't ask if you've watched such adult films or how many A-movie stars you know, but I believe you have at least heard of them. It's a unique profession in Japan, though it's dark and legal. The female performers in this industry bear a heavier mental burden than those in third-tier films, and no one has ventured into their emotional journeys or inquired about their joys and sorrows. Yet, like you and me, they are people who long for warmth. "Platonic Love" is a film based on the true story of Japanese AV star Ai Iijima. A beautiful, innocent high school girl is raped by a group of male classmates and subsequently kicked out of her home by her parents, leaving her to wander the streets. Faced with the complexities of the city, the young woman is at a loss. At this point, a nightclub owner takes notice of her and offers her a job as a hostess. With no support and no money, she agrees. Meanwhile, a stranger quietly watches over her through text messages and refers to her as "Naoshima." The young woman decides to go along with it and calls herself Naoshima, dealing with the people and events around her. Naoshima, not yet 18, has never been exposed to the outside world and soon becomes immersed in the allure of materialistic pleasures. At the nightclub, Naoshima meets a variety of people, and their financial enticements draw her deeper into the mire. Through an introduction, Naoshima signs a contract with an adult film production company for five movies and five million yen. Despite hesitation, she ultimately signs this sordid contract with her own name. The sudden change in her life leaves Naoshima filled with confusion and uncertainty, unsure of her future. At this moment, a coincidence allows her to meet the stranger who has been watching over her, Ito. Two lonely souls quickly come together, beginning a painful yet resilient love story. The structure of the film isn't particularly intricate, but the portrayal of Naoshima's painful professional life and her helpless psychological state deeplyHeart-stirring.For a beautiful and lovely girl who is only 18 years old, the complex society is like a hell, and all the people inside are devils. In such a situation, it is destined that Naoshima can only endure. In the film, Naoshima's confusion, helplessness, struggle, and longing for warmth are everywhere. Before being kicked out of her home, she was brutally beaten by her father, with blood all over her head. Naoshima looked at her mother beside her, but she received a completely indifferent expression. Naoshima angrily left home and went to the street. Lost and unable to receive any concern from any aspect, she broke down and exchanged her body for her first money. Being raped is unfortunate, but as Naoshima said, she didn't do anything wrong! Not only did her family fail to comfort her physically and mentally, but they also escalated the situation with more beatings. How can a 17-year-old heart withstand such torment? It is only natural for her to fall into degradation when things reach their extreme. Do you know what you were doing at 17? Dating with friends, sitting in a bright classroom studying, there must have been many wonderful things. However, Naoshima has to face those dirty customers in the nightclub. She has to support herself, she has to survive. Don't blame her, don't scold her. Who has ever given her guidance when she was 17? When her worldview was not yet mature, Naoshima's going astray can only be attributed to her youth and the prevalence of evil people. She is too cute and beautiful, she is a tempting dessert, and her surroundings are full of wolves and tigers. She is innocent. Young people cannot resist the greedy enjoyment of material things, especially when the people around them instill a distorted sense of values. A person's judgment is easily lost. After spending some time in the nightclub, Naoshima's sensitivity to money surpasses her own body. She indulges in sexual relationships with others without caring. Although the contradictions and conflicts in her heart still exist, and although she also asks Ito, who cares about her: What is the most valuable thing to a person? But when Ito tells her: Youth is the most valuable thing, Naoshima, who has already lost her direction, still locks in on the answer: Money. Naoshima is too helpless, too many things are coming at her.
