Takumi Sajima (voiced by Atsumu Abe) is a gifted young boy with exceptional talent in drawing, already recognized and appreciated by the minister despite his young age. However, the death of his uncle, who was a manga artist, causes him to abandon his dream of creating manga, closing himself off and living a carefree, aimless life. That is, until his friend Akito Takagi (voiced by Sousuke Terashima) enters his life. Akito's dream is to become a manga artist, but despite his unique talent in literary creation, he knows nothing about manga. Upon learning of Takumi's past, Akito invites him: "I'll write the script, and you'll create the art. Let's become manga artists together!" Although Takumi has a thousand reservations, he is forced to agree as Akito holds the leverage of knowing his secret crush on his classmate, Misato Asagi (voiced by Saori Hayami). Thus, the two embark on the arduous journey to become manga artists, and Takumi's passion for manga is gradually reignited.
