In 2022, humanity achieved the fusion of the real world and a virtual space, and an electronics manufacturer developed an online video game called "Sword Art Online." Upon its release, SAO was highly acclaimed, and the limited 10,000 available spots were sold out in a short time on the day of its launch. Through the internet, players could immerse themselves in an imaginative and exotic game world known as the floating city of Aincrad. In this world, players could live, train, level up, engage in commerce, and explore, experiencing all the fun of the real world but with unparalleled enjoyment. Kirito (voiced by Hidekito Tanaka), who was once a beta tester, was also one of the 10,000 lucky players. After the initial excitement, players discovered that they could not log out of the game as intended. Even more terrifying was the fact that if a player's HP reached zero, their physical body in the real world would also die. They were trapped in the game by the developer,Akira Yamaoka (voiced by HiroakiKōichi Yamashita), and the only way to escape seemed to be to complete the difficult quest...
