The work tells the story of the protagonist, Iijima Ryū, who is the grandson of the famous ghost story writer Iijima Kame (whose real name is Iijima Rē). Ryū has had the ability to communicate with spirits and even exorcise evil spirits since childhood. Before his death, Kame ordered the strongest of his spirit familiars, Ryūkō Seiran (residing within Ryū's father's body), to protect Ryū for life. After Kame's death, Ryū gradually discovers many secrets between his grandfather and the demons.
