Thousands of years into the future, humanity venturing into space is divided into two nations with vastly different political systems: the Galactic Empire, characterized by authoritarian rule, and the Free Planets Alliance, governed by democracy. The conflict between these two nations has persisted for 150 years, with the vast expanse of the galaxy serving as the stage for endless battles. Corruption within the Galactic Empire's aristocratic society and the democratic pitfalls of the Free Planets Alliance's "mob rule" have eroded both nations. Toward the end of the 8th century of theUniversal Century (Cosmic Calendar), the appearance of two geniuses set history in motion. "The undefeated genius," Reinhard von Lohengramm, and "The undefeated magician," Yang Wen-li. Leading the Imperial Forces and the Alliance Forces respectively, they engaged in yet another conflict, the details of which are unknown.
