"Dead Space: Ignition" is a prequel to the storyline of the PC game "Dead Space 1": On the Aegis VII colonial planet, the United Federation discovers the Red Marker, which had been hidden and sealed by Earth's government. They then dispatch the Ishimura to Aegis VII for what is ostensibly a mining operation, but in reality, to retrieve the Red Marker. The Ishimura's crew and the engineers on Aegis VII come into contact with the Marker and begin the process of transferring it. During the transfer, the workers begin experiencing hallucinations, which soon lead to their mutation and self-inflicted violence. At the same time, the residents of Aegis VII start behaving abnormally. Knight and Will begin investigating the resident uprising, but they soon realize that the situation is out of control...
