In late June 2014, the end credits of the final episode of the first season of the anime "The Knight in the Sky: Shidonia" announced the production decision for the second season, "The Knight in the Sky: Shidonia - The Ninth Planet Campaign." Additionally, a special preview screening for the first two episodes of the second season would be held in November, with tickets to the screening being limited and bundled with the first and second volumes of the anime. Furthermore, an important character from the original work, "Hakuha Ito," will appear in the second season, and the early work of the original author, Tsutomu Nihei, "BLAME!," will also be animated as an in-universe story within the second season.
