Reimi Sanae (voiced by Mayumi Yamaguchi) was supposed to be a happy and lively girl, but her father, Ichiro Sanae (voiced by Unsho Ishizuka), developed an excessive and suffocating obsession with her due to her resemblance to her deceased mother. This caused Reimi immense pain, leading her to fall off a cliff and die. Unbeknownst to her, Reimi's death led to a fateful encounter with a young man named Chouno Kudou (voiced by Ryoichi Yamamoto). Kudou, who is extremely passionate about zombies, developed a strange elixir to resurrect his beloved cat. He applied this elixir to Reimi's lifeless body, and to his surprise, Reimi was resurrected as a zombie. Thus, the zombie Reimi naturally became a boarder in the Kudou household. In an effort to restore Reimi to her former self as a normal girl, Kudou began his research for a new elixir, embarking on a journey to find a solution.
